Marie

Meet Marie. Marie has been supported by the Housing First Program team through the John Howard Society of Fredericton since July 2021. Marie has struggled with mental health concerns, homelessness, and being a single mother to two daughters. Since being connected with the Housing First team, Marie has put in the work to ensure her mental well-being and diagnoses are taken care of. She actively participates in her healing/counselling, and plays an active part in her daughters’ lives. Marie’s improved well-being led her to receive a housing offer from NB Housing in August of 2022. Since being housed, Marie has followed the continual path of wellness and ensures all of her needs are met while providing for her daughters. She has made her house a home, continues to engage with her supports, and has been flourishing in the new space that she gets to call home.
